highly collectible 19th century american antique interior residential ornamental cast brass "broken leaf" passage size doorknob fabricated by the lockwood mfg. co., south norwalk, ct. the unique potted plant design motif was patented by t. villago on may 22, 1887. the eastlake style dome-shaped doorknob contains a picket fence border with centrally located urn and plant against a diamond-shaped field pattern. the banded rim doorknob has a mostly uniform surface patina. limited quantity available. measures approximately 2 1/8 inches in diameter.
