original oversized late 19th century antique american victorian era interior residential parlor hall tree hook possibly fabricated by yale & towne or a similar hardware fabricator. the highly ornamented coat and/or hat hook is comprised of cast iron with traces of an old brass-plated finish. the hook was salvaged from a badly damaged wall-mount console. the base plate contains two screw holes for mounting purposes. the highly detailed leafage, beaded borders and volutes are most impressive. brushed metal finish treated with a clear coat finish. multiple hooks in this particular pattern are available in additional listings. measures approximately 4 1/2 inches off the wall and 8 inches high.
