largely intact late 19th century antique american full fireplace mantel salvaged from a chicago graystone built around 1895. the victorian era mantel retains the original french beveled mirrors. two finely turned and tapered solid oak wood spindles support the curvaceous top shelf slightly below the cornice or crown. a small shelf backed by the central mirror is supported by two wood brackets. incised floral motifs are found along the frieze. fabricated by chas. f. lorenzen & co., chicago. measures 80 x 64 inches. the firebox opening measures 48 1/2 x 41 1/2 inches.
