heavily reinforced early 1920's american industrial weathered and worn ohio post office mail sorting cart containing a shallow rectangular-shaped compartment with stationary oak wood rail guards. the four upright posts or support members retain the original double-wheel cast iron swivel casters manufactured by the bassick co., bridgeport, ct. the cart's four-legged base is reinforced with threaded end iron pipe attached to flanges mounted on each of the legs. the rail guards contain heavy gauge angle steel l-shaped corner brackets and multiple bolts for added rigidity. excellent timeworn surface patina left untouched. only one available. measures 54 x 24 x 30 inches.
