largely intact c. 1920's vintage medical hospital maternity ward or nursery wrought banded steel infant bassinet. the mobile bassinet carrier is comprised largely of bent tubular steel. retains the original white enameled finish discolored and distressed over the decades. the hospital bassinet was manufactured by the shampaine co., st. louis, mo. salvaged from the old cook county hospital (chicago, il). retains the original hardened black rubber casters.
