late 1930's american industrial custom-built freestanding factory machine shop floor lamp. the single upright tubular steel post is supported by an incredibly heavy welded joint solid steel circular-shaped base. the "deep bowl" profile cold-rolled steel shade or reflector with green porcelain enameled finish was fabricated by the appleton electric company, chicago, il. the heavily insulated black rubber lamp cord is original and intact. the brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. measures approximately 80 inches tall with a base diameter of 11 inches.
