very well built and fully refinished early 20th century antique american industrial stationary chicago factory workbench or table with the riveted joint iron or steel base designed and fabricated by or for the angled steel stool co., otsego, mich. the tabletop and custom-built drawer were likely added shortly after the metal base was built. the centrally located single sliding drawer retains the original stamped or pressed steel "cup" style handle or pull. the tabletop consists of three thick and nicely worn heavy duty bolted old growth pine wood boards bolted firmly against the base. the riveted joint workshop desk or table base is comprised of angled and pinched and/or twisted metal that has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. the wood drawer, handle and tabletop have been refinished and sealed. great overall condition. salvaged from a chicago paint factory. measures 51 1/4 x 22 1/4 x 34 inches.
