original american made c. 1950's four-legged stationary industrial machine shop stool designed and fabricated by the lyon metal products company, aurora, il. the lightweight pressed and folded stool was assembled with riveted joints for maximum stability and/or durability. the adjustable backrest is supported by two bent steel brackets attached to the underside of the seat. the stretchers double as a foot or heel rest. the cleaned and brushed metal finish has been sealed with a clear coat lacquer. salvaged from a chicago tool & die factory. measures approximately 14 x 14 x 24 inches.
