original nicely distressed heavy gauge steel single-sided rectangular-shaped brightly colored yellow enameled "open" storefront window sign. the exact sign fabricator is not known. the nice-sized metal signs contains bold black lettering that was likely hand-painted. surface rust evident along the right edge of the sign. contains four screw holes in the corners for mounting purposes. surface wear and tear consistent with age. found in the basement of an old hardware store located on halsted street in chciago. measures 23 3/4 x 8 inches.
