original four-legged early 1940's varnished oak wood draftsman stool salvaged from an old chicago streets & sanitation department building. retains the "cook county property" identification tag on the underside of the seat. the stool seat is slightly recessed near the fancy slats or spindles. the bent wood semi-circular top rail is fastened securely to the backside of the seat. the height of the chair is adjusted by rotating the threaded steel rod. the heel or foot ring is comprised of bent wood. the faucet handle controls the spring-loaded tilt mechanism. chair fabricator unknown. maximum height 28 1/2 inches.
