c. 1910-1920 original antique american portable industrial folk art portable lightweight toolbox or chest salvaged from a chicago valve works factory building. the unique corrugated tin metal is pressed and folded and fastened together with brazed joints. the lockable hinge or hasp is riveted tightly against the chest. the unusually shaped hinged top contains a riveted joint handle comprised of pressed or stamped steel. the interior retains the original heavily compartmentalized tray. the exterior has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer.
