refinished c. 1915-25 antique american industrial oversized cast iron factory machine shop single sheave pulley likely designed and fabricated by the u.e. & m. co., chicago, il. the brushed rotating single sheave pulley is mounted to a cast iron bracket or fork. the stationary base plate with pre-drilled mounting holes is attached to the pivoting bracket with a single pin. the spoked pulley is held in place with a single wrought iron or steel cotter pin. the distinctive mechanical device has been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a cleat coat lacquer. great overall condition. pulley has a diameter of 9 inches making a total of 14 inches wide.
