original c. 1900-10 antique american "monaco" pattern residential entrance door hardware designed and fabricated by the p. & f. corbin co., new britain, ct. the intricately designed backplate with detailed leafage and beaded border contains two skeleton key holes and the original wrought brass thimble or collar. the matching decorative doorknob contains a black enameled inlay to accentuate the casting detail. salvaged from a chicago graystone undergoing demolition. nicely aged surface patina throughout. backplate measures approximately 13 x 3 inches.
