original early 20th century antique american industrial elevator machine room "flyball" governor likely fabricated by or for the otis elevator company, new york city, ny. the single sheave governor was removed from the non-extant bunte candy factory built by the architectural firm of schmidt, garden & martin. the single cab elevator was originally housed in the factory's tower. the gears, springs weights, etc., retain the original black enameled finish. the antique elevator governor was fully functional prior to removal.
