very unique and seldom found original american depression era at deco exit glass shade possibly fabricated by the kopp glass co., swissvale, pa. the semicircular-shaped pressed glass shade or lens features deeply embossed bold lettering with original cherry red baked enameled finish. the reinforced vintage "milk glass" shade was originally paired with a specially designed cast aluminum shade fitter containing a single keyless socket. the protruding notches found along the top and bottom were designed to "lock" the glass shade into the aluminum fitter without the use of set screws or other mounting hardware. the thick glass shade is free from cracks or breaks. salvaged from a chicago area theater. measures approximately 9 3/4 x 5 inches.
