original and intact late 19th century american gothic style ornamental cast brass interior residential pocket door backplate likely fabricated by russell & erwin or the p. & f. corbin company. the backplate or escutcheon contains a deeply recessed elongated oval-shaped "cup" handle accentuated with lightly incised gothic tracery. nicely aged surface patina left untouched. measures 6 1/2 x 2 1/8 inches. only one available.
