unusually designed 19th century cast iron monogrammed doorknob manufactured by the yale & towne mfg. co., new britain, ct. features a patented multi-faceted bronze shank. deep beaded edge shows little sign of wear. the center features two overlapping letters surrounded by a neoclassical egg & dart border. uniform brushed metal finish. likely salvaged from a commercial building or possibly a hotel. two matching doorknobs available. measures approximately 2 1/4 inches in diameter. priced individually.
