polychrome art deco style terra cotta building cornice assemblage. removed from the richman bros. building built in 1929. the assemblage consists of flanking green colored acanthus leaves followed by a dazzling deco motif that coalesces w/ the perched owl (also sold individually in another listing). this overall arrangement ran nearly 80 ft. along the front of the building near the roof line. each terra cotta piece has been hollowed and can be cut down (on the backside) for easier installation. very unique, one of a kind art deco terra cotta arrangment. the richman bros. bld. was is located on state st. in downtown chicago. terra cotta manufactured by the american terra cotta co. unglaxed finish.
