old colossal cook county hospital building located in chicago, Il - old medical devices, vintage furniture, etc.
built in 1913-14, the cook county hospital is a classic representation of beaux-arts in the form of an incredibly ornate white terra cotta façade. The architect was paul gerhardt who worked in conjunction w/ schmidt, garden & martin. The building stretches 2 blocks in length and has over 600,000 sq. feet of space. Demolition begins this summer.
