the hotel dana was chicago's oldest continually operated hotel located in the downtown area. the hotel was originally known and/or built as the erie hotel by the architects patton and fisher. the facade exhibits queene anne and romanesque features common to that particular time period. unglazed red terra cotta capitals, limestone arch detail and bay window pressed tin panels were rescued from the rubble of this rather tragic ending.
