"experiencing" the death of a building can be mentally and physically exhausting

i was indifferent when i found a human skull wedged under a load-bearing column while the building (1871) around me was being demolished. perhaps i was more concerned about my safety, but i had to capture a shot of the intact facade before it was pulled down.
i've seen far more gruesome things... when a building is left to die, a strange "energy" floods every inch of it. broken people go there to drink and die. others try to burn it down. still others tear it apart, taking every last piece of copper.
nothing is positive - ever.
on that note, while working on a demolition site the other other day i was breaking through the walls looking for "insulation" to date the house constructed with massive timbers. when i discovered the boots i stepped back. not to sound overly dramatic, but for the first time i felt a chill run up my spine. i wondered if the boots were going to come to life. they looked very malicious to me. maybe i need sleep... haunting: the only word i think of when i see this image.
