unique c. 1950's vintage american industrial single-sided blue porcelain enameled "washing" filling station sign designed and fabricated by the veribrite sign company, chicago, ills. the richly colored sign was salvaged from an old south side chicago gulf station undergoing demolition. the stamped steel letters are affixed firmly to white porcelain enameled rails that would be mounted against the building, above the garage. sign measures 88 inches in length. the individual letters measure 10 inches in height.
