all original and intact late 19th century exterior residential stoop or staircase balustrade, comprised largely of elegantly designed wrought iron scrollwork. the flanking cast iron newel posts contain recessed panels and pyramidal-shaped caps. the late victorian style ironwork was salvaged from a chicago residence undergoing demolition. fabricated around 1895-1900 by the dearborn foundry co., chicago, il. the riveted joint wrought iron is structurally sound and rigid. contains an older black paint finish with sporadic crazing. run measures 45 1/2 inches and rise measures 91 inches.
