exceptional american depression era antique american art deco style hanging fixture "modernizer" pressed lilac colored glass shade designed by reuben haley for the consolidated lamp & glass co. located in coraopolis, pa. a design patent was issued on march 5, 1929 for haley's remarkable hanging shade. reuben haley designed three of the most extensive lines of art deco glassware ever to be produced in the united states. these included the martele, catalonian, and ruba rombic (i.e., geometric, angular lines, etc.) for the consolidated glass company's art glassware division from 1926-1933. the motifs and glass treatments of rene lalique were the main inspiration for the martele line. the martele line offered the best of lalique's french art nouveau motifs. the ruba rombic line consisted of nearly 37 glassware items, featuring prominent and striking geometric and angular lines in colors such as "smoky topaz", "jungle green", "jade", "lilac", "sunshine", silver, etc. measures 11 inches. multiple drop shades available. priced individually.
