late 1940's american industrial completely intact and fully functional iron and steel hand-crank die cart manufactured by hamilton tool co., hamilton, oh. the portable elevating table or "portelvator" was designed and patented by oscar schilchter in 1933. the heavily reinforced all-metal mobile cart or die table contains a nicely distressed "factory green" paint finish. the gear box, gears and tenoned screws are in great working condition, considering age. the cast iron spoked stationary and smaller swivel wheels are original and intact. the foot-operated brake keeps the cart in a stationary position when engaged. the original crank handle is used to manually lift the heavy steel deck upwards and downwards. the undershelves provide plenty of additional storage space. the versatile well-built cart would look great in the kitchen, especially with the addition of a maple wood top (optional and/or available upon request). several industrial hand-crank die carts available. salvaged from a west side chicago sheet metal fabrication factory founded in in 1894. brushed metal carts available. the original distressed enameled finish left intact for added visual character. measures approximately 22 x 34 with an adjustable height of 26 - 37 inches.
