fully functional c. 1931-33 vintage american medical "zorex" infra-red freestanding quack device floor lamp. features an adjustable height spring-loaded telescoping arm that protrudes from a stationary pole supported by a cast iron weighted base. the base of the gooseneck arm contains the original on/off toggle switch. the lamp shade or reflector is comprised of spun aluminum with original enameled red brass plaque containing a cautionary note that reads "to be used only by or on the prescription of a physician." the repurposed reading lamp was fabricated by the adjustable fixture co., milwaukee, wi. the vintage american medical lamp has been rewired with period appropriate braided black cloth lamp cord.
