late 1920's american interior residential ceiling mount three-tier "wedding cake" style cut prism glass chandelier salvaged from a chicago style bungalow house undergoing renovations. the five electric "barebulb" ceiling fixture contains five yellow brass tubular arms supporting candlesticks with period appropriate patinated sleeves concealing standard leviton candelabra keyless sockets. the spun yellow brass pan fixture contains three graduating tiers of faceted glass prisms or "crystals" spaced closely together to conceal the light source. the tapered and turned post with deeply incised rings and floral motif, along with chain and fanciful canopy are original to the ceiling fixture. additional faceted crystals are mounted along the base of each candlestick. all crystals intact. original rayon cloth cord wiring. older uniform gold enameled finish. fabricated by the harry alter lighting co., chicago, il. measures roughly 20 inches in diameter and 39 inches in total height.
