stylish industrial "explosion proof" light fixtures with embossed clear glass threaded end jars and protective cage. manufactured by the crouse-hinds co. removed from the boiler room located in the former cbs studios building (chicago, il). originally mounted upright (as shown in the photograph) atop a large machine regulation or control panel. if certain parameters were not meet, the light(s) would illuminate, informing the engineer of a malfunction of sorts. the fixtures date to the 1950's. the housing is made of a heavy cast aluminum. measure 10 inches in height by 4 1/2 inches in diameter. priced for the pair.
