remarkable hard to find early 1930's american made factory office file clerk or cashier "posture-chair" designed and patented by ernest bacz of detroit, mi. the exceptionally well-constructed tall chair or stool is comprised of folded and pressed cold rolled heavy gauge steel. the highly contoured thin metal saddle seat retains the original fully adjustable back rest that can be set in a multitude of inclined positions. the seat is supported by a centrally located cylindrical-shaped telescoping post containing closely spaced slots for height adjustment. the base is comprised of four outstretched legs retaining the original steel disc shoes for optimal stability. the original tubular steel heel ring is supported by four welded joint angled steel brackets that revolve around the central post. the vintage industrial office chair has been thoroughly cleaned and brushed to bare metal. the original army green enameled had worn significantly over time with rust formation evident. the chair was fabricated by the burroughs adding machine company, detroit, mi.
