completely intact and hard to find early 20th century interior residential chicago prairie style bracket sconce fabricated by the w.b. brown co., bluffton, ind. the wall-mount electric oversized sconce consists of a darkly stained solid oak wood bracket with original pyramidal-shaped leaded art glass lantern shade. the "mission oak" finish remains in very good condition, considering age. the four-sided pyramidal lantern is composed largely of caramel slag glass, with a brightly polychrome colored geometric design arrangement adorning each side of the shade. the edison key paddle socket is original and has been rewired with period appropriate lamp cord. measures 26 x 24 x 6 1/4 inches. the single electric light fixture was salvaged from a chicago craftsman residence constructed around 1912.
