documented c. 1910 antique american medical single-sided cast brass optician's office desk plaque possibly fabricated by r.h. gardner & co., chicago, il. the diminutive angled plaque contains slightly raised letters against a rich blue enameled inlay. the unrestored occupation plaque has a nicely aged and mostly uniform surface patina. the original state board of registration and examination in optometry certificate was found with the plaque. measures 7 1/2 x 1 1/2 inches.
