exceptional all original and intact metallic silver-enameled cast iron rare c. 1928-30 american art deco style interior elevator cab grille salvaged from the non-extant "michigan square" building designed by the architectural firm of holabird & root. the building was perhaps best known for the public enclosed space known as "diana court" - named after the stunning marble and bronze fountain executed by swedish sculptor carl milles. the building was demolished in 1978. the perforated metal grille contains a super streamlined geometric design with centrally located abstract floral motifs. the silver enameled finish is believed to be original. the single flush mount elevator car or cab grille measures 11 x 8 1/4 inches. the exact fabricator is not known. two matching grilles are available. priced individually.
