two matching early 20th century original american industrial cast iron factory machine shop bases featuring a newly added refinished oak wood tabletop and undershelf or footrest. the two bases or legs were possibly fabricated by or for the w.a. jones foundry & machine company, chicago, il. the specialized bases containing a multitude of holes for stretcher rods, etc., were salvaged from a west side chicago factory specializing in the fabrication of sheet metal. the matching bases have been brushed down to bare metal and sealed with a cleat coat lacquer. the bases are in great overall condition. likely fabricated around 1910-20. the heavy oak wood tabletop and undershelf were savaged from a defunct railroad boxcar. makes for an ideal desk or console. 61 inches x 24 inches x 33 inches.
