early 1940's american vintage medical streamlined style freestanding hospital operating room supply cabinet manufactured by the american metal furniture inc., (a.m.f. co.) indianapolis, ind. the upright storage cabinet is comprised of reinforced cold-rolled furniture sheet steel with unique spun aluminum tapered peg legs. the tall and slender cabinet contains a single hinged cabinet door with original clear glass inset. the cabinet's interior contains three plate glass shelves with original fully adjsutable shelf brackets or "clips." the bottom portion features a single pull-out drawer and all-metal and/or windowless cabinet door concealing a divided interior. the depression green glass faceted knob pulls are of the period, but uncertainty arises when considering whether or not they are original to the cabinet. the cabinet has been brushed to bare metal and treated with a clear coat finish. measures 19 x 14 3/4 x 60 1/2 inches.
