original and completely intact late 1930's vintage industrial bull blinder or combined halter and controller designed and patented by henry masbruch, for the russell mfg. co., platteville, wi. the blinder was used to control and/or prevent animals (particularly vicious bulls) from charging persons or other animals. the unusual device is comprised of stitched leather straps, steel buckles, rings and a tightening chain. the large semi-circular concavo-convexo eye plates are comprised of heavy gauge steel with incised manufacturer markings. sight openings at the bottom of each eye plate permits the animal to look downward only. contains typical wear consistent with age and use. two similar blinders available. priced individually. 12 x 17"
