matching set of original c. 1920's american art deco "skyscraper style" ornamental cast bronze interior chicago office building door hardware, possibly fabricated by sargent or russwin. the streamlined style backplates feature a steeped or ziggurat design, which was a very popular motif used during the deco period. the rather unadorned doorknobs contain recessed edges with low-relief segmented lines surrounding oversized circles. the exact building from which the hardware was salvaged is not known. likely dates to 1925-35. backplates measure approximately 7 x 2 inches and doorknobs measure 2 inches in diameter. priced for the set.
