all original and hard to find single-sided reinforced stamped steel "standard hand signals" pictorial and/or informational factory sign salvaged from a notable chicago foundry first established in 1879. the nicely worn and weathered sign features a total of nine boxes with a factory worker performing hand signals or gestures pertaining to crane operation. the gargantuan foundry contains several "northern" overhead cranes fabricated by the northern engineering works. the oversized factory sign with rounded edges, contains a baked-on enameled finish that has been lightly cleaned. measures 14 x 20 inches.
