completely functional early 1920's american industrial ceiling-mount furniture factory stockroom pendant light fixture designed and fabricated by the benjamin electric mfg, co., chicago, il. the single light fixture contains a shallow circular-shaped shade or reflector affixed to a slightly tapered socket housing retaining the original white ceramic or porcelain "weather-resistant" socket. the tubular pole or stem and spun metal canopy contain a distressed red paint finish. the original green porcelain or vitreous enameled finish remains in great overall condition. the pendant lamp contains a reflective white vitreous enameled underside to increase luminosity emitted from the incandescent light bulb. measures 14 inches in diameter x 24 1/4 inches high.
