original 19th century antique american solid oak wood flush or surface mount exterior corbel possibly fabricated by the foster & munger company, chicago, ills. the bracket was originally apart of a pilaster that divided two entrance doors belonging to a two-flat apartment building or residence in chicago. the darkly stained solid and elegantly carved corbel is in great overall condition, considering age and prolonged exposure to the elements. the sides are bedecked with lightly incised scrolls or volutes. the pilaster corbel was salvaged shortly before the 19th century house was demolished. only one available. measures 5 inches in depth x 18 inches high.
