vintage art deco c. 1920's chrysler automobile radiator closure cap, retaining original, albeit somewhat pitted chrome-plated finish. the streamlined style cap with a wing or fin motif was likely removed from a chrysler imperial or plymouth. as walter chrysler was the chairman of the chrysler automobile corporation, various architectural details and especially the building's gargoyles were modeled after chrysler automobile products like the hood ornaments of the plymouth. another important element was the radiator cap used on the late 1920's chryslers, and shared on the imperial models.
