repurposed old industrial hanging pendant light consisting of an old solid steel butcher metal hook combined with a rewired machine shop portable lamp guard. the heavy duty hook with eyelet is attached to a bent wrought iron strap containing a perforated cast iron pulley. the vintage fulton market meat hook was fabricated by or for st. john & co., inc., chicago, il. the mcgill portable lamp guard features a hardened black rubber handle with lightly embossed rings for added grip. the push button socket has been rewired with period appropriate braided black cloth lamp cord. the drop light contains two flanking plug receptacles located directly below the socket. the refinished steel cage or bulb guard features a unique expandable bottom and reflector. the braided lamp cord is twisted around the hook, pulled through the swivel eyelet and wrapped around the spinning pulley. excellent working condition.
