completely intact and fully refinished antique american industrial mobile factory machine shop cart or work table salvaged from a recently shuttered chicago twine factory. the unusual furniture shop piece was no doubt custom built in-house using existing materials. the top section is divided into two compartments with a removable solid oak wood board added for added contrast of material of for use as a functional surface area. the other deeply recessed compartment has been left untouched. the tubular steel uprights and telescoping extensions are intact, but difficult to adjust. the bottom section contains two x-shaped angled iron sections for cross-bracing, resting against a flat sheet of steel or rolled iron. the bassick stationary and swivel casters are perforated cast iron. the industrial table or cart has been brushed and sanded down to bare metal and sealed with a clear coat lacquer. dates to the early to mid-1930's. 32 inches x 18 inches x 31 1/2 inches.
