Description
original american factory powdered soap wall mount dispenser dating to the mid-1930's. the vintage dispensing apparatus retains original white and black porcelain enameled finish, with "luron" (heavy duty powdered boraxo hand soap) advertising. this type of dispenser was often used in public lavatories, factory wash room, etc. this dispenser is known as the "valve type" in that the discharge opening normally set to the closed position is adapted to receive "longitudinal reciprocation" or simply a push by the user. the antique soap dispenser retains the original chrome-plated reservoir dome-shaped cap, which is almost always missing and/or badly corroded. measures 9 x 6 inches. the condition is exceptional, considering age. designed and patented by william a dudley for the pacific coast borax co.
