late 19th century ornamental cast bronze interior residentia vestibule or entrance door stop work mortise lock fabricated by the russell & erwin mfg. co., new britain, ct. the ornamental faceplate is comprised of bronze metal. the two button stops are generally used to make the exterior knob stationary, so accessibility from the outside requires a key. mostly uniform surface patina. measures approximately 4 x 1 x 61/2 inches
