original c. 1880's antique american eastlake style "oriental" pattern interior residential passage door privacy lock fabricated by branford lock works, branford, ct. the mortise lock contains an ornamental cast brass faceplate with traces of the original black enameled inlay. the lock contains a single fully functional latch bolt activated by a "thumbtwist" handle. measures approximately 3 1/2 x 7/8 x 3 3/8 inches.
