c. 1950's vintage american industrial heavy duty woodworking classroom workbench salvaged from an old chicago public school. the oversized combination locker and bench was fabricated by the brodhead-garrett co., cleveland, oh. the table base is comprised of cold-rolled folded steel with the original mint green baked enameled finish largely intact. the twelve matching, equally sized locker units contain hinged doors with lockable hasps and stamped steel number plaques or tags. the spacious tabletop consists of solid rock hard maple wood with original varnished finish. surface wear evident. measures 72 x 24 x 33 inches.
