original 19th century antique american victorian era interior residential sliding parlor door mortise lock designed and fabricated by the parker & whipple co., west menden, ct. the cast bronze slide lever or handle is in working condition. the ornamental cast iron aesthetic style face plates have been thoroughly cleaned. the cast iron lock box retains the original baked black enameled or "japanned" finish. measure approximately 7 3/4 x 1 1/4 x 3 5/8 inches.
