early american industrial double-sided hand-painted galvanized steel hanging "shut off valve" sign salvaged from the john magnus factory building located in chicago, il. the fire sprinkler system sign was likely fabricated in-house. the sign contains an off-white background with bright red lettering largely intact and legible. the fanciful large directional arrow is a nice addition. the factory informational sign originally contained a wood border or frame, which has since been removed. surface wear and discoloration consistent with age. measures approximately 24 x 12 inches.
