original and intact c. 1930's vintage industrial utility closet single electric pendant light salvaged from an old woolworths store in chicago. the "schoolhouse" style fixture has been rewired with period appropriate twisted black cloth lamp cord. the socket housing and/or shade fitter retains the original porcelain socket and set screws used for securing the shade. the chain and canopy are made of steel with a dark bronze plate finish. the reinforced bulbous white opalescent glass shade is original and intact. likely fabricated by harry alter & co., chicago, il. measures 14 x 36 inches.
