"bommer" hinges removed long ago
custom-built c. 1940's chicago post-prohibition nightclub swinging door featuring an oversized lengthwise textured plate glass panel accentuated with a lightly etched chevron design motif. the narrow door is comprised of birch wood with original darkly stained finish largely intact. the heavy duty "bommer" hinges were removed long ago. the semi-transparent glass panel is free from damage (i.e., cracks, breaks or discoloration). the door fabricator is not known. the non-extant nightclub was originally located on the south side of chicago. measures 80 x 23 3/4 inches.
